There is no denying that AI is here to stay. AI offers us multiple, innovative uses in a simple way, to improve both our efficiency and the quality of our work
The Agile world is tremendously changing. New rules or tools constantly appear, which force us to constantly re-evaluate everything we think we know.
AI can be a support, a pillar of knowledge to lean on in times of need. And this is the simple objective of this article: To show some prompts that can help us resolve conflicts, learn more about activities or tools, make presentations and meetings, and a long etcetera of useful uses.
But first, let’s do a quick review on how to create powerful prompts that can be really useful in our daily lives:
However we ask AI, AI answers us. If we ask the wrong questions, AI’s answers will tend to be vague or downright wrong. We need to spend the time necessary to ask the right question for AI, and make sure we give the right context, as well as guide the AI on the type of answer we are really looking for.
A prompt is a written (or spoken) instruction by which we ask AI for certain information. Much has been written about how to build efficient prompts for AI. I have condensed the main tips as much as possible, in the form of a small list of actions or “checks” that we should go through to build a prompt:
1. Be clear and specific: When you ask the AI, take some time to create a text that is as unambiguous as possible. Try to make your question direct towards the aspect you are looking for. If you don’t know, keep in mind point 5 of this list (re-question) so that, with the information you are getting from the AI, you can ask the winning question.
No: “Tell me about the urban planning law”
Yes: “Tell me about law XXX”
No: “Tell me about law XXX”
Yes: “Behave like an expert in urban planning, and know the rules and laws applicable in territory YYY, and give me a summary of law XXX”
“How the XXX law helps the revaluation of properties in the YYY area”
“How does the ZZZ law relate to the one you just explained to me?”
Below I give you a series of prompts that can be useful in the day-to-day work of all members of an agile team. For some of the examples I add a screenshot of the result in the Gemini AI. It goes without saying that these prompts work for any AI you know.
Scrum Master: Certification
Hello. I am studying to take the Scrum.org Scrum Master certification.
Act like an agile expert and ask me questions that could potentially be included
in a Scrum.org Scrum Master certification exam.
Along with the question, offer me several possible answers, where only one is correct.
For each of my answers, tell me if I got it right or not.
And if I didn't get it right, give me comments on the key aspects that I should strengthen, and ask again.
We keep this dynamic of questions and answers for 10 iterations and, at the end, offer me
a small statistic of the results. Always keep the communication in Spanish
Product Owner: Help!! I’m new
Hello. I am a product owner of a technological product, consisting of a mobile APP that
shows the time anywhere in the world. I have no issues with the necessary knowledge of the application,
but I do have issues with the framework and communication with the development teams and the Scrum Master.
I would like to participate better with the team and the project. Act as an Agile Coach and give me
recommendations to work better with the team.
Product Owner: Certification
Hello. I am studying to take the Scrum.org Product Owner certification.
Act as an Agile expert and ask me questions that could potentially be included
in a Scrum.org certification exam for this role. Along with the question, offer me several possible
answers, where only one is correct. For each of my answers, tell me if I got it right or not.
And if I didn't get it right, give me feedback on the key aspects I should strengthen.
Keep this question and answer dynamic going for 10 iterations and, at the end, offer me
a small statistic of the results. Always keep the communication in Spanish.
Scrum Master: Help with the Daily
Hi. I am a Scrum Master and I would like to run a Daily that is truly useful for my team members.
Offer me ideas, tips or good practices that I can use on a recurring basis in my Dailies.
Give me several options so that I can use them in a way that I do not repeat the same dynamics too much.
Ask me what you need about the composition of the team, their experience, the type of project, or whatever
you need to give me powerful ideas
Scrum Master: Help with the Retro
Hi. I am a Scrum Master in a team with quite a bit of knowledge in the Scrum framework.
I am having difficulty being a little more original or dynamic in the Sprint Retrospective.
Act as an Agile Coach and give me ideas and tools to run Retrospectives that
keep my colleagues' attention. Along with your proposals, include links to specialized sites or tools that you suggest.
Scrum Master: Quiz for the team
Hello. I am a Scrum Master and I am meeting with all the members of my team, including the Product Owner and
some Stakeholders. We are all working on creating a mobile APP specialized
in booking airline tickets. I would like to play a game with my colleagues, and to do so I need you to
act as an expert in agility and good practices; and ask a question about activities or
common use cases and ask which role is responsible or how we can solve that issue together.
We will give you the answer that we think is correct, and then you tell us if our answer
can be correct or not. Also, give us some advice on how the Scrum framework
can help us. Then you start over.
Scrum Master: Help with activities
Hello. I'm a Scrum Master tasked with working with a new team with no Scrum experience.
I want to introduce them to the framework in the safest and most efficient way possible.
Act as an experienced Agile Coach and give me an implementation roadmap for a new team.
If you need more context, feel free to ask me whatever you feel necessary.
Technical Team Member: Help with feedback
Hello. I am a member of a technical team where we work with the Scrum framework.
My mission in the team is to code the Frontend of the application.
I want to be as efficient and communicative as possible with the rest of my colleagues, Scrum Master and Product Owner.
Give me advice, ideas and key points where my participation is most relevant.
Tell me about meetings, activities, tools or communications that are important, and in which I should be
especially careful
Technical Team Member: Help with refactoring and quality
I want you to act as a specialist in the C# programming language and in Visual Studio Code.
I want you to ask me questions about the quality of my code. I will answer these
questions and, depending on the answer, give me proposals or good practices that I can follow.
Questions should cover the entire build lifecycle, including documentation, coding, testing,
deployment, and refactoring. You can ask me about the tools I use to better guide your
questions and recommendations.
Scrum Master: Difficulty with the Daily
Hi, I am a Scrum Master on a team. We are building a web application for room booking.
The team is having difficulty communicating efficiently in the Daily.
I would like to help them, but I am not sure how. I would like you to help me with ideas, advice or best practices.
Use the standard Scrum.org framework. For more context, you can ask me questions about
the team composition, activities we perform, or anything else you think is necessary.
Team Member: Conflict with the Scrum Master
Hi, I am a member of a technical team that works with the Scrum framework.
I am having a conflict with the Scrum Master. I am unable to understand some of his comments in the Daily or the
Sprint Retrospective. I would like you to act as an Agile Coach and expert, not only in the Scrum
framework, but in Agile in general and best practices. Give me some advice or ideas so I can
communicate better with him. You can ask me anything you want to get more context
Team Member: Conflict with Teammates
Hi. I am a member of a technical team where we work with the Scrum framework.
My mission in the team is to code the Frontend of the application.
My Frontend colleagues and I have conflicts with our Backend colleagues.
Our work is not synchronized efficiently every day and, at the end of the sprint, many errors appear
of understanding in our work, which forces us all to make a great effort in corrections and changes,
in order to be able to arrive with the work well done on the committed date. Act as an expert in agility and
give me ideas about tips, standards, tools or conversations that I can have with my colleagues to
improve this situation
